Gearhart is the town Rise Above Realty calls home. It is small on purpose: about 1,500 residents, no stoplights, a wide beach you can drive onto at the 10th Street ramp, and Gearhart Golf Links, the oldest course in the Pacific Northwest. Pacific Way has a bakery, a café, a market, and the McMenamins Sand Trap, and that is about all the commerce Gearhart wants.
Second-home owners from Portland who have been coming here for generations, retirees who want quiet and a golf cart ride to the course, and families who want Seaside's schools and services five minutes away without Seaside's summer crowds. Gearhart is where people come to slow down, and it holds its value for that reason.
Shingled beach cottages from the early 1900s along the historic Gin Ridge and near the golf course, contemporary homes in Gearhart by the Sea and the Highlands, ocean-view lots on the north end toward Surf Pines, and newer construction along Highway 101. Gearhart has some of the highest price points on the North Coast, and we have sold here at the top of the market, including on Sheridan Court.
Seaside is 5 minutes south, Astoria and Warrenton 15 to 20 minutes north, Cannon Beach 20 minutes south, and Portland about 90 minutes east on Highway 26.
